Kohpemaa Gear didn't start with a business plan. It started with a problem: the equipment Pakistan's climbers needed on the country's toughest peaks simply wasn't made for them. So we built it.
Founded and run by working mountaineers, Kohpemaa makes expedition-grade tents, packs, sleeping bags, and layers designed for the Karakoram, the Himalaya, and every unnamed ridge in between. If it hasn't survived a real climb, it never reaches you.

Mountaineer & Founder, Kohpemaa GearKohpemaa Gear was born on the ice of Malika Parbat — the “Queen of Mountains” in Pakistan's Kaghan Valley. After five years surveying the peak and two attempts turned back by storms and soft snow, Ahmed Mujtaba stood on its north summit on 31 August 2012.
No sponsors. No porters. No established base camps. Just a small team negotiating bottomless crevasses and mixed rock-and-ice on a mountain almost nobody had mapped. For that ascent, Ahmed was honoured with a shield by the Alpine Club of Pakistan.
He builds Kohpemaa Gear for climbers like the ones he leads — because the equipment he needed on that wall didn't exist. Every piece we make carries the lessons of that climb.

Seven peaks across the Karakoram, the Himalaya, Swat-Kohistan and China's Pamir — climbed in light style, with the same gear philosophy that built Kohpemaa.

Khunjerab Mountains, Karakoram. Led a seven-member team up a new route on the west face and upper southwest rib — 450 m of 65–85° hard ice climbed on 60 m of rope. Summited 25 August at 2:35 p.m.
